Founded in 2017, Common Rights is a mission-driven advisory firm founded by Baskut Tuncak, an internationally recognized environmental and human rights lawyer with 25 years of experience in R&D and international law and policy. Appointed to two terms as UN Special Rapporteur on human rights and hazardous substances and wastes (toxics), he has also served as executive director of the Massachusetts Toxics Use Reduction Institute (TURI), senior attorney with Leigh Day and the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL).
As Senior Advisor, Baskut and his partners serve as trusted, independent advisors to governments and UN agencies, like-minded organizations, worker representatives, innovative businesses, and individuals on pressing international environmental and social issues.
